About this role

Java, Mobile App Development, Android, C# Programming, JSON, Kotlin, Backend Development, Android App Development · I’m enhancing an existing Android application and need two key upgrades:

1. Real-time text chat • In-app conversation screen with message history, read/typing indicators and offline persistence. • Scalable backend or third-party SDK of your choice (Firebase, Socket.IO, or similar) fully integrated, with clean, well-documented code so I can maintain it later.

2. Activity feed • A dedicated screen that pulls and displays a chronological feed of user activities (likes, follows, posts, etc.). • Smooth, paginated scrolling and a simple JSON endpoint or local database schema to keep the feed in sync.

Acceptance criteria • Messages appear instantly on both devices and remain after app restart. • Feed loads in under two seconds on a typical 4G connection and updates seamlessly with pull-to-refresh. • Code follows Android best practices (MVVM/Kotlin Coroutines or equivalent) and passes basic lint checks. • A short README explains setup steps, APIs used and any keys I must supply.

Send over a brief outline of your proposed tech stack and timeframe; once agreed, we can spin up the repo and milestone schedule right away.
