About this role
PHP, Web Security, WordPress, MySQL, Web Development, Backend Development, Database Management, API Development · I’m setting up an online community where intermediate-level cybersecurity enthusiasts can trade tips and troubleshoot problems together. The core of the site will be a discussion forum dedicated to technical support; fresh news feeds or job boards may be bolted on later, but right now I just need a rock-solid, secure forum up and running.
Here’s what I’m after: • Clean, responsive front-end that feels modern on both desktop and mobile. • Forum engine (Discourse, Flarum, phpBB, or another open-source solution you recommend) configured for thread-based technical conversations. • User registration with email verification, role-based permissions, and basic moderation tools (flagging, banning, content review). • Categories/sub-forums that can expand as new topics emerge. • Search, tagging, and syntax-highlighted code blocks to make technical answers easy to find and read. • HTTPS, rate-limit protections, and standard hardening practices to keep the platform safe.
Deliverables: 1. A fully deployed forum on my VPS or cloud host of choice. 2. Brief documentation explaining the tech stack, install steps, and how I can add new categories or admins. 3. A quick walkthrough call
