About this role
JavaScript, Python, Web Scraping, Django, Inventory Management, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Content Management System (CMS) · I need a clean, well-structured Django application that works as a dedicated content management system for product listings. The core of the job is to let me create, edit, and retire products easily from an admin dashboard while the public site instantly reflects every change.
Key capabilities I must have • Inventory management – automatic stock tracking, low-stock alerts, and a simple bulk-update screen. • Product categorization – nested categories, drag-and-drop reordering, and URL slugs that honor the hierarchy. • Advanced search – fast, faceted search across titles, descriptions, tags, and category names (Elasticsearch or PostgreSQL full-text search is fine).
I’m already comfortable deploying on a typical Linux/Nginx/PostgreSQL stack, so the project can stay close to Django conventions. Use virtualenv/Poetry, add clear README instructions, and keep settings modular for dev vs. prod.
Acceptance criteria 1. A Git repo containing the Django project, requirements file, and sample data fixture. 2. Admin panel screens for inventory, categories, and products that follow Django admin patterns with light customization. 3. Public-facing catalogue pages with pagination, bre
