About this role
PHP, Visual Basic, Data Processing, Excel, Data Visualization, Data Analysis, Google Sheets, Data Management · I need a tidy, idiot-proof Google Sheets setup that lets me record every sale we make at our events and immediately see how that affects current stock levels. All data will be entered by one person, so there’s no requirement for multi-user permissions or automated feeds—just a clear, well-structured place for manual inputs that keeps the numbers accurate.
Here’s how I picture it working:
• A single “Sales Log” tab with data-validation drop-downs for product names, event dates, and payment types, plus protected formulas that calculate quantity sold, total value, and running stock on hand. • A master “Inventory” tab that holds opening stock figures; the Sales Log should reference this in real time so I can spot shortages as soon as the sheet opens. • A clean dashboard that pulls from both tabs to show today’s sales, cumulative sales for the event, and an at-a-glance stock balance. Conditional formatting that flags anything at or below zero would be ideal.
Everything must be built with native Google Sheets functions—no Apps Script—so it stays easy to maintain. Once the sheet is finished, I’ll test it by adding a week’s worth of sample sales; your work is complete when the stock
