About this role
Python, Excel, Statistics, Financial Analysis, Statistical Analysis, Data Extraction, Data Visualization, Data Analysis · I have a single company’s financial statements archived as PDFs and I need clear, data-driven answers to two questions: how has the firm’s revenue grown over time, and what has happened to its profit margin along the way?
The task starts with converting the PDF tables into a workable dataset, cleaning any OCR or formatting issues, and structuring the numbers so year-on-year trends are reliable. From there, I want descriptive statistics, visualisations that highlight revenue as well as gross and net profit, and a concise narrative explaining the drivers behind any major shifts you uncover.
Please use whichever toolchain you are most comfortable with—Python (pandas, tabula, Camelot), R (tidyverse), or even Power BI/Excel—as long as the extraction is accurate and the analysis reproducible.
Deliverables • A tidy CSV or Excel file that mirrors the figures in the original PDFs • A short report (PDF or notebook) covering methodology, key findings on revenue and profit, and at least three clear charts • The code or documented steps so I can rerun the process if future statements arrive
