About this role

SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Mid-Senior Full Stack JavaScript/TypeScript Engineer to join a Commercial Engineering team working on business-critical digital publishing and advertising platforms.

This is a long-term opportunity within a complex, high-traffic production environment, combining ongoing platform enhancement, modernisation and migration work. The role is technically full stack, with an approximate 70/30 frontend-to-backend split, although the frontend work is focused on browser-level engineering rather than traditional UI or React component development.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING:

As part of an agile software development team, you will:

• Develop and maintain software using JavaScript, TypeScript and Node.js.

• Working directly with vanilla JavaScript, the DOM and browser APIs.

• Building and maintaining plugin and configuration systems.

• Working with third-party script integrations across commercial and advertising platforms.

• Contributing to browser-level functionality, including DOM manipulation, scheduling and brokers.

• Working with analytics and consent management (CMP) integrations.

• Contributing to the ongoing development and modernisation of high-traffic production platforms.

• Supporting a mixture of BAU enhancements, platform evolution and migration work.

• Working within existing CI/CD, containerised and Kubernetes-based environments.

• Collaborating with an experienced engineering team to solve technical problems and deliver reliable, maintainable solutions.

• Taking ownership of problems and using initiative to identify and implement effective solutions.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Strong commercial experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.

• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js.

• Proven experience working with vanilla JavaScript.

• Strong familiarity with the DOM, browser APIs and the inner workings of modern browsers.

• Strong software engineering fundamentals.

• Experience developing and supporting software in production environments.

• Comfortable working with CI/CD and containers.

• Familiarity with working in a Kubernetes environment.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative.

• Comfortable working across both frontend and backend areas of a system.

• Ability to work effectively within an established engineering team and complex production environment.

• Strong focus on code quality, maintainability and engineering best practices.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience with CSS and browser layout.

• Previous experience within digital publishing, advertising technology or high-traffic web platforms.

• Experience with third-party script integrations.

• Exposure to analytics platforms.

• Experience with Consent Management Platforms (CMPs).

• Experience contributing to platform modernisation or migration projects.

• Good use of LLM/AI tooling as part of the software development workflow.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

• Be part of our collegial environment where responsibility and authority are shared equally amongst colleagues and help create our company culture.

• A culture in which we don’t criticise failure but ensure we learn from our mistakes

• An Agile environment where your ideas are welcome

• The possibility to grow and experience different projects

• Ongoing Training & Mentoring

• The possibility of travelling
