Hospital Staff Shift Scheduling System

Python, Django, NoSQL Couch & Mongo, Node.js, Web Development, Frontend Development, Database Design, REST API · I need a focused staff-management module for our hospital administration team that handles one thing exceptionally well: shift scheduling. The application should let me build, edit, and publish rosters, catch double-bookings instantly, and highlight coverage gaps across wards. Each staff member must have a personal login so they can check their timetable on any device and receive a prompt email or SMS when something changes.

Please architect the tool so it can slot into our wider hospital information system later—clean REST endpoints and a clear database schema are important. I’m comfortable with any modern web stack (for example, React or Vue paired with Node, Django, or a comparable back-end) as long as the code is well-documented and easy for our in-house IT team to pick up.

Acceptance criteria: • Admin can create and drag-drop shifts, then save the schedule. • System prevents double-booking and flags conflicts in real time. • Automatic notifications go out when shifts are assigned, swapped, or cancelled. • Schedules export cleanly to CSV and PDF.
