About this role

Java, Python, Mobile App Development, Android, Kotlin, GitHub, Android App Development, Android Studio · I maintain an open-source Android application hosted on GitHub that mixes Kotlin, native C/C++ (via JNI/CMake), and a small Python utility layer. I’m ready to take the next step in quality and functionality and need a seasoned developer who is comfortable jumping across those three languages.

Here’s what I need done:

• Code optimisation – refactor hot paths, trim memory use, and streamline build times without altering existing features. • New feature development – propose and implement pragmatic additions that fit the current roadmap. • Bug fixing – clear the active issues board and leave detailed commit messages for traceability.

The emphasis is on measurable gains in performance, tightened security (input validation, safer native calls, dependency reviews), and a more polished user interface that follows modern Material guidelines.

Deliverables 1. One or more well-scoped pull requests merged into the main branch. 2. Updated unit/instrumentation tests verifying new behaviour and preventing regressions. 3. A concise changelog entry and any necessary README or Wiki updates. 4. Evidence of performance and security improvements (e.g., benchmark results, static-analysis
