About this role
Mobile App Development, iPhone, Android, Objective C, Swift, API Development, SwiftUI, iOS · I’m building an iOS application that lets a user keep tabs on where they’ve been and where they are in real time. The core workflow is straightforward: the app captures the device’s live GPS signal, stores a continuous stream of coordinates on the backend, and makes that trail viewable on demand as a neatly ordered history log.
Key elements I need you to handle: • Real-time tracking that updates smoothly even when the app is running in the background. • A location history view that can be filtered by date and plotted on Apple Maps. • Social media login (Facebook, Google, or Apple Sign-In) as the sole authentication path, with tokens stored securely in the Keychain. • Battery-efficient GPS polling so the tracker won’t drain the phone on long trips.
I’m open to your preferred stack for the backend as long as the API is RESTful and the data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Swift, SwiftUI, and Core Location are the natural choices on the client side, but if you have a compelling alternative I’m all ears.
Acceptance criteria for hand-off: 1. Xcode project with clean, documented code. 2. Working build installable via TestFlight. 3. Postman collection (or similar) s
