About this role

Python, Software Architecture, Arduino, Node.js, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), MQTT, HTTP, API Development · I’m running a Tuya-based smart lock that currently relies on Tuya’s cloud, and I want it to function entirely inside my LAN. Lock, unlock, status, battery level—everything has to stay, but without any call home.

What I need is solid API integration work. Whether you reverse-engineer the existing Tuya local protocol, pull the device keys, or wrap native commands in MQTT/HTTP, the outcome should be a clean local API I can hit from Home Assistant or a simple Python script on my Raspberry Pi.

Deliverables • Working code (Python, Node, or equivalent) that locks/unlocks and reports state over the local network • Step-by-step guide for extracting any required keys or tokens without cloud access • Setup instructions that work on a fresh device • Confirmation—via packet capture or logs—that no outbound traffic is generated

I can supply packet captures, serial console logs, and I’m comfortable flashing test builds if that helps. Ideally I’d like this wrapped up within two weeks, but let me know your realistic timeline and any prerequisites. Looking forward to keeping this lock private and fully under my control.
