About this role
PHP, JavaScript, Asterisk PBX, Technical Support, Twilio, Automation, Database Management, API Development · I’m setting up an automated SMS assistant that keeps every patient in the loop while still feeling one-to-one. The system must create and send three distinct kinds of text messages:
• Appointment reminders • Medication reminders • General health tips
Each text has to be generated uniquely for the individual—pulling the person’s name, upcoming appointment date, prescription details, or any other relevant field we already store—rather than relying on generic templates or broad group segments.
When a patient replies, the only expected interaction is “Request more information.” Those replies need to be captured, tagged to the correct patient record, and forwarded to our team dashboard (or another endpoint we agree on) so staff can follow up manually. No other response flows are required.
You’re free to suggest the best route in terms of SMS gateway (Twilio, Plivo, Vonage, etc.), templating engine, and database connection; what matters is that the final deliverable can be dropped into our existing tech stack with clear setup instructions and well-commented code. A concise user guide that shows how to add new message templates and fields will serve as the acceptance test.
