About this role
Mobile App Development, iPhone, Android, GPS, PhoneGap, Backend Development, App Development, iOS · I need a straightforward service that captures a phone’s GPS coordinates at regular intervals and stores them so I can review a clean, searchable location history whenever needed. Platform has not been finalised yet—if you can cover both Android and iOS smoothly, great; if you specialise in one, outline the approach and any API or SDK considerations up-front.
Here is what matters to me: • Reliable background collection of latitude/longitude with time-stamps, even when the app is minimised. • A secure back-end (Firebase, AWS, or your preferred stack) that receives, stores and serves the history. • A simple dashboard or in-app screen that lets me pick a date range and see every stop on a map. • Respect for battery life and all current privacy permissions for the chosen OS.
If you can optionally add real-time tracking or geofencing later, mention how that would slot into your architecture, but the initial milestone is purely the historical log.
Please tell me which language, framework and mapping library you’ll use, the expected delivery timeline, and how you will demonstrate the feature working on a physical or emulator device.
