About this role
Python, Data Processing, Cartography & Maps, Geolocation, Remote Sensing, Geospatial, Data Visualization, Data Management · I have a single raster image that needs to be turned into a clean, GIS-ready shapefile. The goal is to generate polygon features that clearly delineate two zones across the entire image.
Please work with whichever desktop or scripting tools you are most comfortable in—ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, GDAL, Python (rasterio, geopandas) or similar are all fine—so long as the final deliverable meets these criteria:
• ESRI Shapefile (SHP, SHX, DBF, PRJ) containing polygons representing the distinct two zones extracted from the raster • The image is not georeferenced. Recommended coordinate system WGS84. • A brief note (PDF or TXT) outlining the steps you followed and any parameters used, so I can reproduce or update the process later
Let me know your approach and estimated turnaround time; I’m ready to move forward as soon as you are.
