About this role

Computer Security, Technical Support, Documentation · I am setting up my small laptop to a fully wired or wireless Ethernet network and need an experienced hand to get us connected quickly and cleanly. The scope is limited to the physical and logical side of wired connections; Wi-Fi and router optimisation can stay as future enhancements, so the immediate focus is:

• Plan and install the cable runs from the main switch to each workstation • Configure the switch so each port is live and properly tested (basic VLAN or QoS work only if truly required) • Verify that every desk PC and networked printer pulls an IP, reaches the internet and shares files locally without drops

Acceptance criteria 1. All ports pass a cable tester and hit gigabit speeds. 2. Internal pings are consistently <1 ms; external connectivity proves stable for at least one hour under light load. 3. A brief hand-over document lists the physical layout, port numbers, and any switch settings changed.

I have the switch, patch panel, and Cat6 reels on-site; you may bring your own punch-down tools and testers if preferred. Work can take place during office downtime (after 6 pm or weekends) so disruption is minimal. Let me know your estimated time on-site and any
