About this role

PHP, JavaScript, CSS, Software Architecture, Apache, Nginx, HTML, SQLite · I need a straightforward drive-by download mechanism that silently queues a Windows software installer as soon as a visitor lands on a designated page. The installer is already packaged and code-signed; your task is strictly to build the web component that triggers the download and logs basic metrics (IP, timestamp, referrer).

Here’s what I expect: • A lightweight landing page (HTML/CSS/JS or PHP) that automatically starts the download in modern browsers without pop-ups. • A small server-side script compatible with Apache or Nginx that records each hit to a CSV or SQLite file. • Clear instructions so I can deploy the page on my own VPS and point traffic to it. • Final hand-over after I verify the download initiates correctly and the log captures the required fields.

If you know techniques such as Content-Disposition headers, meta refresh, or JavaScript fetch/Blob methods, mention which one you’ll use and why. Optional ideas—like adding fallback links, or preparing a MacOS/Linux branch for later—are welcome, but my immediate need is the Windows workflow.

The job is small and focused; once everything tests out, I release payment on the spot.
