About this role
PHP, Website Design, Graphic Design, SEO, CMS, HTML, Web Development, Web Design · I’m ready to move my writing portfolio onto its own professional website and need someone who can take care of both the design and the hosting setup from start to finish.
The site’s core purpose is to showcase my work, so the layout has to put words first: crisp typography, distraction-free reading, and subtle visuals that support rather than compete. I want four clearly defined sections—About Me, Published Works, Contact Information, and an area dedicated to my Podcast links—each reachable from a simple top-level navigation.
Here’s what I have in mind: • A clean, responsive design that looks polished on desktop, tablet, and phone. • An intuitive CMS (WordPress, Ghost, or similar) so I can add new pieces or podcast episodes without touching code. • Fast, reliable hosting that you set up and configure; I don’t yet have a provider, so please include this in your plan. • Basic on-page SEO and security hardening (SSL, backups, spam protection) baked in at launch.
Deliverables will be: 1. Design mock-ups for approval. 2. Fully built site migrated to live hosting. 3. A brief hand-off guide (or recorded walkthrough) showing me how to add content and manage updates.
